DANOBAT underfloor wheel lathe

The division specialised in railways of DANOBATGROUP continues to expand its market share with a major order from Bombardier Transportation. The Canadian company has awarded the cooperative a contract for the delivery of a DANOBAT underfloor wheel lathe  for the re-profiling of train wheels.

The DLR model (DANOBAT Light Rail) is capable of machining train wheels and brake discs. The machine features an option to work both with the axles still attached to the vehicle or with removed wheelsets and bogies. The many different configurations offer several machining capacities: wheel profile, inside and outside surface of the wheel, brake disks located on the inside or end of the axles as well as on the wheel, etc. Read more

SORALUCE unveils its entire new generation at its centre of excellence in Germany

Zero-defect manufacturing of composite parts in the aerospace industry

In the aerospace industry very high quality standards have to be met. For the manufacturing of carbon fibre parts this is currently solved through extended end-of-line inspection in combination with re-work processes to deal with defective parts. Also, in-situ visual inspection is used for quality control, which is currently causing huge productivity losses during lay-up and has become a real bottleneck in carbon fibre parts manufacturing. ZAero project will provide a solution by developing inline quality control methods for the key process steps: automatic lay-up (dry fibre placement and automatic dry material placement) and curing. DANOBAT has developed two highly versatile grinding machines for large parts machining for the company Grupos Diferenciales

Customised Grinders for Large Part Machining

Customised Grinders for Large Part Machining

DANOBAT has been developing two highly versatile grinding machines for Grupos Diferenciales. These grinders will make it possible to turn, grind and measure large parts using a high-efficiency process that ensures the utmost quality.

The challenge

Grupos Diferenciales, which specialises in producing high-tech gears for mechanical transmissions used in sectors such as the automotive industry, maritime transport, railway and aeronautics, performs technologically advanced tasks while providing high added value, using difficult to machine materials with close tolerances.

In its ongoing search for new technological solutions to increase its efficiency and competitiveness, there was a need to find a flexible, adaptable solution that could be highly customised, making it possible to finish the parts in a single set-up. Read more

The new DANOBAT coil fed laser cutting system will be showcased at Euroblech trade show

DANOBAT at EUROBLECH 2016

DANOBAT at EUROBLECH 2016

The Sheet Metal division of DANOBAT will be at next EUROBLECH exhibition (October25-29) with a 300 sqm Stand (hall 12, booth B103), where its new coil fed fiber laser cutting line will be exhibited. This new solution's primary goal is to achieve significant savings in the materials to be processed and an increase in productivity as a result of reduced machine downtimes.

It is a highly productive solution, which takes full advantage of all the benefits offered by fiber laser cutting technology (efficiency, speed, versatility, minimal maintenance, etc.), as well as the benefits arising from the use of metal coils (up to 15% savings in materials cost and improved sheet utilisation, being capable of cutting different types of parts simultaneously). GOIMEK extends its machining capacity with a cutting edge SORALUCE multitasking machine

GOIMEK extends its machining capacity

GOIMEK extends its machining capacity

  • The investment is part of the strategic commitment of the company focused on offering advanced machining processes for strategic parts for demanding sectors, involving the design of custom solutions adapted to the needs of each client.
  • The expansion of the machine park is yet another step forward in 4.0 manufacturing in which all equipment is interconnected to adapt to a growing demand for parts with high added value in a more flexible manner.

GOIMEK, part of the DANOBATGROUP and specialised in precision machining and large machining further widens its production capacity with the purchase of a cutting edge SORALUCE FP-16000 multi-function machining center.

Thanks to this new purchase, the cooperative not only increases its current production capacities, but also enhances its quality service for high-precision parts. Furthermore, the investment will expand the existing range of capacities: apart from grinding and milling now also turning is offered, a new technology not included so far in the extensive machine park of the company. Danobat heavy-duty grinder adds to Lymington Precision Engineers’ capability

Lymington Precision Engineers has gained a reputation over its 30 year history of being a ‘can do’ organisation, growing to a £50 million turnover business on the back of targeted investment in people and manufacturing technology. Now under the wings of the Senior PLC as a member of its Flexonics Division, LPE is continuing to invest and diversify as well as increasing the capacity for existing customers within the Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defence, Land and Sea Systems, Nuclear and Marine industries.

In the past 12 months LPE, which is accredited to ISO 14001 and 18001 and is working towards AS9100, opened a second manufacturing location, this additional 30,000 ft2 facility takes total floorspace to 121,000 ft2 and enhances the company’s ability to project manage large, low-volume components on machines with up to 4 m capacity as well as higher volume work on its two flexible machining systems. All of its work tends to be high-tech, high-added value, working with difficult to machine materials to tight tolerances. Within the new facility is a purpose-built, temperature-controlled, environment for its latest machine tool investment, a Danobat HG-72-3000-B11, a universal heavy-duty grinding machine. This 3000mm between centre machine is capable of grinding diameters up to 640 mm weighing up to 1.5 tonnes and, the integrated torque motor on the CNC-controlled B-axis allows the machine to carry out a wide range of grinding functions, including external and internal grinding, thread grinding. The machine’s wheelhead is powered by a 45kW motor that generates peripheral speeds of up to 45 m/s on the machine at LPE, with a maximum wheel diameter of 610 mm. Read more
